We are the Harner Viticulture Lab at Virginia Tech, based at the AHS Jr. AREC in Winchester, VA. Our lab broadly explores how viticultural practices, environmental conditions, and biotic stressors influence fruit production, grapevine physiology, and fruit composition.

Using a combination of field- and lab-based tools, ranging from whole-plant ecophysiology methods to fruit and wine metabolomics, we hope to improve our understanding of the interactions between grapevines and their environments.
